Dorothy Eileen Brown

Obituary Dorothy E. (Hammerschmith) Brown Dorothy E. Brown died Sunday February 13. She was born August 23, 1929, to Adolph and Ruth Hammerschmith of Yelm, Washington. She attended Yelm Schools and graduated from Yelm High School. She attended Washington State University. She worked in the library at Yelm High School. Dorothy was a member of St. Columban Catholic Church where she had been active in the Altar Society and the Religious Education program. After retirement she and her friend Patt started walking several days a week. Their favorite walking route was in Yelm and usually ended at Mr. Doug's Restaurant where they shared a sandwich. She enjoyed traveling to visit children and grandchildren. She also traveled with her friends Ramona, Betty and Josephine whom she had known since childhood. She is survived by her children Sharon Kabanuck (Terry), Garry (Lucy), Joann, Susan Walsh (Steve), Patricia Trusty (Jack Holtzclaw) and Mike (Michele); nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren; a brother Adolph Hammerschmith and two sisters Patricia Wilson and Muriel Bate. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Columban Catholic Church in Yelm on Saturday February 19 at 11 a.m. Donations may be made to Yelm High School Dollars for Scholars, St. Columban Church Building Fund or the charity of your choice.
