Obituary Donna Marie Hawkins Donna Marie Hawkins, born February 14, 1954 in Manning, Iowa, passed away on January 6, 2013 in University Place, Washington at the age of 58. Donna graduated from Marian Catholic High School in San Diego, CA and went on to study music at the University of San Diego and Dominican College in San Rafael, CA. Donna was highly regarded as a musician and vocalist at many Catholic Churches in Tacoma and Pierce County. Most regularly, she played and sang at St. Rita's Church since 1978 and Holy Cross Church since 1979. Donna also taught piano in her home for many years. Donna's parents were Dr. Herbert and Mrs. Ernestine Parisi, both deceased. Donna is survived by her husband Jerry Hawkins of the home, sons Sean (Joelnell) of Tacoma and Peter of Phoenix, AZ, daughter Karianne of Tacoma, grandson Ian of Tacoma, brother Dr. Michael Parisi (Sherri) of Harker Heights, TX, nephews Matthew and Noah Parisi and nieces Amanda and Emily Parisi. A Rosary will be recited on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at 7:00 pm at St. Rita Catholic Church, Tacoma. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, January 11, 2013 at 10:30 am at St. Rita Catholic Church, Tacoma. Inurnment at Calvary Cemetery. Donations in Donna's name are appreciated at Franciscan Hospice House, 2901 Bridgeport Way West, University Place, WA 98466, where she received excellent, compassionate care in her last weeks.
