Obituary Don Calhoun, 77, was born February 23, 1934 in Tacoma and went to heaven August 24, 2011. He was preceded in death by his father, John C. Calhoun, and his mother, Helen Calhoun. Don graduated from Lincoln High School in 1952. After a short time in the Navy, Don was discharged and returned to the family business, an Atlantic Richfield gas station at 46th and Pacific. It later became Calhoun's Service Station, where Don worked for 52 years. He had many customers and made many friends. Don's life long passion was his airplanes and flying. Don learned to fly as a teenager. He loved flying to Port Orchard or Thun Field for coffee and pie. He also enjoyed snow skiing at White Pass and waterskiing on Puget Sound. Don loved to boat and fish, but mostly he loved his family He will be dearly missed by all. Don is survived by his wife Marilyn and four children; Karen (Jamie), John, Peter (Lena) and Alison; and nine grandchildren, Emily, Sam, Jessica, Sheena, Patrick, Brandi, Ashlee, Jordan and Tristan. He is also survived by his brothers, Richard (Carolyn) and Larry (JoAnn). Funeral mass will be Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at 11:00 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
