Donald Buhre

Obituary Donald Buhre, born May 8, 1919 in Tacoma passed away April 13, 2008 at Franke Tobey Jones Retirement Estates. He attended Lincoln High School and graduated in 1938. He served in the Navy during WWII. He met Betty Lou Beasley and they married in December 1942 and recently celebrated 65 years of marriage together. Donald became a Fire Alarm Dispatcher for the Tacoma Fire Department and retired as a Captain after 30 years of service. He enjoyed golfing and was a member of Elks Allenmore Golf Course for 60 years where he was Golf Handicap Chairman for 39 years. Donald received a lifetime membership to the Tacoma Elks Lodge #174. He is survived by his wife Betty; daughters Dona (Ken) Hook; Joan (Dan) Flynn, Patti (Sam) Chavis, sons; Lee (Vicki) Buhre, Lynn (Connie) Buhre, Greg (Eugenia) Buhre; 17 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, April 18, 2008 at 1:00 pm at the Gaffney Funeral Home Chapel. A reception will follow the service in the side room. Entombment at Calvary Cloisters. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his name to the Tacoma Fire Department Chaplancy.
