Obituary DOMINIC J. CONSTANTI Heaven is now rejoicing, and the angels are singing that our beloved Dominic J. Constanti went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Dec. 26, 2008. Dom was born on Oct. 26, 1916 to Nick and Pearl Constanti in Tacoma, WA. A few years earlier in 1913 the family traveled by ship from Yugoslavia, to start their new lives. Dom lived in North Tacoma much of his life, not far from the Slavonian Hall where we celebrate his life. He was an Altar Boy at St. Pat's where his family attended church. Dom graduated from Bellarmine Preparatory School, in the Class of 1932. He served during WWII in the U.S. Navy, station in San Diego, CA. Dom was right there helping to keep the US safe. After he returned to Washington, his sister Andrea introduced him to the love of his life Arlene. They were married on Valentine's Day February 14, 1948, and 60 years later, still in love. Dom worked in the ship yards, but he was well known for being a Commercial Fisherman. He had a great love for the Sea. He was an active member of the Elks Club #174 for over 50 years. He had made many friends and enjoyed playing his card games, and of course horse races, and a few casinos. Dom will be remembered for his great joy for life, as a dedicated husband and father, and lived life with a wonderful sense of humor. Dom has touched countless lives; his legacy will continue to live on through his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Pete, Mitchell and sister Andrea. He was survived by his wife Arlene, his children Tudy (Buck) Peddersen, Rick (Kathryn) Constanti, Patricia (John) Constanti-Fortino, grandchildren Duane Peddersen, Denise Hunt-Rohrer (Dave), Brian Peddersen, Joe Fortino (Laura), Tony Fortino, Nicole (Art) Chavez, Kristopher Constanti, Lisa (Nick) Wiegand, David (Nolle) Hutter, Dan Olson, Sam Ibrahim, great-grandchildren Michael R.
