Dolores Ann Martin

Obituary Dolores Ann Martin Passed away on Sept. 13, 2009. Dolores was born to Lawrence and Mary Ann Walker in St. Paul, Minnesota on October 1, 1923. Dolores was a 1941 graduate of St. Joseph's Academy in St. Paul, after which she went to work for Douglas Aircraft in Los Angeles. In 1942, she made a trip to visit her uncle in Tacoma and met the love of her life, Raymond R. (Bud) Martin, who was on leave from the Army Air Corp. they were married on Feb. 7, 1945 at the Cathedral in St. Paul. Six children followed in the next 17 years, John (Margaret) Atkinson N.H., Donald (Edna) Seattle, Thomas, Lakewood, Mary, Fircrest, Lawrence (Janet) Edgewood, and Ann Thompson (George) University Place. Dolores was a devoted homemaker, dedicated to her family and her faith. Dolores was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Parish for 48 years. Her greatest joy was her family including her 14 grandchildren, Susan, Sharon, Michael, Laura, Joseph, Nicholas, Anna, Allison, Larry, jared, Lindsey, Katie, Courtney, Georgie and 9 great-grandchildren, John, Rebecca, Bobby, Mikey, Matthew, Delilah, Preston, Payton and Marissa. Dolores was looking forward to the arrival of twin great-grandsons in November. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Charles Borromeo Church at 11 AM on Friday, Sept. 18, 2009. The family wants to express their gratitude to the staff of Manor Care Tacoma for the dedication they showed to Dolores for the last 10 months.
