Obituary Divina peacefully returned home to the Lord on June 4, 2007 in the early morning hours. She will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, a caring mother, a woman who had a strong spirit and will to live, and a person whose Catholic faith was so evident in her great devotions to Mary Our Mother. Divina was born in Tarlac Tarlac Philippines on May 18, 1961. Ruben met her through friends while stationed there and courted her for six months. They were then married on March 8, 1980. A year later they came to the United States and they made their home in the Tacoma area. There they enjoyed 27 years of happiness and they filled their home with the laughter of three children. Divina is survived by her loving husband Ruben, and her three children; Ruben Jr., Rodelio, and Regina. She is also survived by four brothers and three sister who reside mostly in the Philippines, and her mother, Salude Jimenez, who also lives in the Philippines. Divina will be missed be so many close friends whom she grew to know in the community and by her distant family as well. They will remember her for her infectious smile, her love of coffee and shopping, and for the warm community she created in her home where all were welcome. The family would like to thank the Hospice staff for all of their kindness and compassion, and especially Franciscan Hospice House staff as well. You may either send flowers to church or please send donations in honor of Divina to either group mentioned above. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, June 14, 2007 at 11:00 am at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church with a reception following. A nine day prayer novena will be concluded on Wednesday, June 13, 2007 at 7:00 pm. All are welcome to attend this gathering at the house.
