Obituary Diane Elizabeth Owens Young Diane Elizabeth Owens Young, daughter of J. Carroll and Agnes Owens, of Utica, NY, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2013. She was born and brought up in Utica NY, and attended St. Francis DeSales High School. She was a graduate of LeMoyne College of Syracuse, NY and was an intermediate school teacher at Hugh Jones Elementary School in Utica. Diane left teaching to marry William J. Young of Baldwinsville, NY, and was married in Blessed Sacrament Church. The couple spent the next 23 years at bases on both coasts and England courtesy of the U.S. Air Force. She worked at St. Joseph's hospital and the Department of Social and Health Services. Diane loved to travel, loved her faith and was a member of St. John Bosco Catholic Church. She is preceded in death by her husband William J. Young, son, Jonathan; her sister Judith Owens; brother, Monsignor Peter J. Owens of Binghamton, NY; and her sister Carol M. Brannigan of Orlando FL. She is survived by her brother, J. Ogden Owens, of Brevard, NC; her daughter Patricia Mejia (husband Abraham) of Lynnwood, her son Michael (wife Dawn Duffy) of DuPont, and three grandchildren: Abraham, Madeline, and Cecelia Mejia. A Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 am, Saturday, June 22, 2013 at St. John Bosco Catholic Church in Lakewood. A Rosary will be recited before the mass, beginning at 10:30 am. Inurnment will be at Tahoma National Cemetery on Wednesday, June 26 at 11:15 am.
