Obituary Diana Mladinich "Auntie", 95, died June 29, 2010 at her home in Tacoma. Diana was born in Old Tacoma, September 2, 1914. She grew up on the family farm in Puyallup and lived there until 2005 when she moved back to Tacoma. Diana worked in the shipyards during World War II as "Rosie the Riveter"; she was small, so her job was to work in the holds of the ships. Diana also worked for Hunts Brothers Packing and retired from Hygrade Foods in the early 1980's. The most important thing in life to Auntie was family! She always looked forward to family functions, especially the 4th of July in Old Town and Christmas. Auntie was currently a member of St. Patrick Parish, S.A.B.S., All Saints Parish and the 39er's. Diana was preceded in death by her sisters, Jenny Beritich, Helen Mladinich, Catherine Puciloski, brothers, Nick, Tony and Andrew and beloved niece Christine Marie Beritich. She is survived by her nephews, Nick (LaDonna) Beritich, Tom (Nancy) Beritich, John (Kathy) Beritich, all of Tacoma, nieces, Genevieve (Leonard) Strandley, Gig Harbor, Cathy (Mike) Mahoney, OR, Christine Kile, MN, Frances (John) Bamford, OR, Helen Mary Gerehardt, OR.; 18 great nieces and nephews, 22 great-great nieces and nephews and 3 great-great-great nieces. A special thank you to Aunties caregivers, Nick, Joe, Jasmine, Evie, Marquelle, Juanita and Patty. Rosary will be recited on Wednesday, July 7, 2010, 7:00 pm at Gaffney Funeral Home. Viewing all day Wednesday at the Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Tacoma, Thursday, July 8, 2010, 11:00 am. Interment Calvary Cemetery.
