Obituary Denis John Kuwahara Denis John Kuwahara Age 81, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2015. Born February 23, 1934 to Rokuro "Bob" and Julia Kuwahara in Los Angeles, CA. He is survived by his wife of 54 years Helen, brother Michel, son Jan (Sandra), daughters Ann (Robert), Susan (Mark) and Beth (Chris) and grandchildren Andrew, Shelby, Mollie, Matthew and Ryan. Denis spent most of his working life in the aerospace technology industry where he worked on projects that changed technology and the way we interact with the world. He started at Aerojet then moved to Lockheed in California and retired from Boeing. A committed member of St. Gabriel's Catholic Church he was actively involved with volunteering at the Church and with the Knights of Columbus. He was an avid amateur radio operator from the beginning of his career, regularly chatting with other operators from around the world. He also provided message relay services for military personnel stations overseas long before calls home were commonplace. Funeral services will be held Friday October 2 at 11 am at St. Gabriel's Catholic Church, 1150 Mitchell Ave, Port Orchard, WA 98366.
