David Greenawalt Mckeever

Obituary David Greenawalt McKeever, 61, passed away suddenly on November 27, 2006. He was born October 15, 1945 in Puyallup to Donald G. and Mary (Curtis) McKeever. He is survived by his brother Doug McKeever and wife Audrey, both of Bellingham, his niece Shannon McKeever of Seattle, and nephew Scott McKeever of Tacoma. Dave served in the U.S. Army in Viet Nam and Germany from 1968 - 1974. Active in his church, City Club, Fort Nisqually Living History Museum, Tacoma Art Museum, and Tacoma Astronomical Society, Dave was also an avid volunteer. He gave his time and energy to the Northwest Trails Association, the Point Defiance Zoological Society, the Mount Rainier National Park Volunteers in Park (VIP), and the U.S. Forest Service Passports in Time (PIT) projects. Gardening, travel, and hiking with his brother Doug were favorite pastimes. Dave will be remembered for his acts of service to the citizens of Tacoma. Memorials in Dave's honor may be given to John O. Morgan Family YMCA, 1002 S. Pearl St.,Tacoma, WA 98465. Memorial services will be held at Gaffney Funeral Home, 1002 Yakima Ave., Tacoma, WA, on Tuesday, December 12, 2006 at 1:00 PM.
