Obituary David O. Beck David passed away at Harborview Medical Center surrounded by his family on Wednesday, April 19, at the age of 87. He was born April 17, 1919 in Buffalo, New York to Margaret Stagg and L. Gray Beck. The family moved to Everett, Washington where David spent his childhood. He met Rosemary, his wife, in 1944 while serving in the Army during World War II at Schofield Barracks in Honolulu, Hawaii. He was also stationed in Japan during the Korean War. David served our country as a Captain in the Coast Artillery Corps. David was a dedicated employee for Peoples National Bank. His career with the bank spanned 45 years, starting as a mail room messenger and he successfully advanced to Senior Vice President of Branch Administration in the Seattle corporate office. He retired in 1985. He was very active during retirement, traveling with Rosemary to Europe, the Far East, Russia and Africa. He worked part-time in a property management office for a group of doctors. David was a dedicated volunteer for the Federal Way Police Department. David was a loving and caring man and he will be missed by everyone. David is survived by his wife, Rosemary, of 60 years and their four children: Timothy, Teri Nist (Michael), Joey (Halley) and Lynn (Scott Gilchrist); seven grandchildren, Jacob Nist (Jeannie), Katie Ewell (Jesse), Joey Nist, Kristi Harris (Kevin), Toby and Meghan Beck and Liliana Hart Beck and one great grandchild, Makena. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, April, 23, 2006, 10:00 a.m. at St. Theresa's Catholic Church, 3939 SW 331st, Federal Way. Interment with military honors will be held following the mass at 1:15 p.m. at Tahoma National Cemetery, 18600 SE 240th Street, Kent. Remembrances may be made to Plymouth Housing Group, a wonderful organization that provides permanent housing and support services to the homeless, 2209 First Avenue, Seattle, WA 98121.
