David Burton Amundson

David Burton Amundson, age 65, of Puyallup, Washington, passed away Saturday morning, November 23rd, 2019 surrounded by his family at Tacoma Lutheran Retirement Community. Born November 17th, 1954 in Puyallup, Washington he was the son of the late Burton I. Amundson and Marjorie H. (Brandt) Amundson.

Dave was a respected member of the community. He was born and raised in Puyallup, Washington, confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church and graduated from Puyallup High School in 1973. Dave had many dedicated and loving friends throughout his life. He enjoyed spending time with his daughters, friends and family. Family was important to Dave, he always put his mother and children first and made sure they were well cared for. He spent most of his career working at True Value New Lumber & Hardware. Dave had a passion for music and Mount Rainier. In his spare time, he enjoyed building things, fishing, hiking, camping and photography.

Dave is survived by his sister Mary Ann Amundson; three children, Tressa Amundson, Krystle Amundson and Hannah Amundson of Tacoma, Washington; three grandchildren, Jeremiah Amundson, Julianna Preciado, Yvonne (EV) Higgins and many loving relatives.

Memorial services for David Amundson will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, December 8, 2019 at Gaffney Funeral Home on 1002 South Yakima Avenue, Tacoma, Washington 98405. Reception will follow at Sammy’s Pizza on 1308 North I Street, Tacoma, Washington 98403.
