Obituary Darlene Marie Norlin, 72, died August 24, 2006. She was a lifelong Tacoma resident, graduated from Stadium in 1952, and was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and Beta Sigma Phi. Darlene retired after more than 20 years service with the credit union and was the Washington State Credit Union Person of the Year. Darlene was an active volunteer; she received the 2005 Presidential award for over 400 volunteer hours, was a member of the 7th gr. Purple Team at Truman M.S., and received their Golden Acorn Award. Darlene was the Bowling coach for Foss High School, the first woman in South Hill Rotary and a member of Tacoma Executive Association. She was avid supporter of her grandchildren and Sparta Soccer. Darlene made friends for life, would help anyone, and was an inspiration to all. Darlene's life was made complete when she was with her husband Larry, her children and her grandchildren, whether it was on a trip, at the lake, at school or on the sidelines of a game. "Life will never be the same until we are all together again". Darlene is survived by her husband, Arthur L. "Pa"; Children, Nanci Cornell, Steve (Vickie) Norlin, Larry (Karen) Norlin; grandchildren, Jason (Aidan) Cornell, Troy Cornell, Andrew Norlin, Ryan Norlin, Melissa Norlin, and Kristina Norlin. She is also survived by a brother Bill (Eileen) Blaszak and sister in law, Beverly Holmes. She was preceded in death by her parents, Chuck and Marie Blaszak, (Granny and Papa). Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, August 30, 2006, 12:00 noon at The Holy Cross Catholic Church; Rosary will be recited Tuesday, August 29, 2006, 7:00 pm at the Gaffney funeral Home Chapel. Interment Calvary Cemetery.
