Obituary DANKO BACICA Born May 5, 1923 in Luka, Dugi Otok, Croatia. Danko passed away October 9, 2008 at his home surrounded by family. At a young age he left home to become shipwright apprentice. He cherished this vocation the remainder of his life. His adventurous spirit lead him and his family from Croatia to Italy, South America, Canada and the United States where he joined other family members. He retired from J. M. Martinac Shipyard in Tacoma. Throughout his life, Danko enjoyed singing, dancing, telling stories, wine making and wood working. He built his own boat to fuel his passion for fishing. He was a devoted member of the Slavonian Hall and Carpenters Union #470. He is survived by his wife Venka of 60 years; sister Blazenka Zuvic of Croatia; son Ivan (Sarah), daughters Lilliana (Victor) Samuelson, and Diane Bacica; grandchildren: Karina, Karlo and Marisa, and his beloved cat Cisco. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 14, 2008 at 11:00 AM at St. Charles Catholic Church. Rosary will be recited Monday, October 13, 2008, 7:00 pm at Gaffney Chapel.
