Daniel James Hunt was born in Dagenham Essex, England, United Kingdom to Daniel James Hunt and Eva Robinson and had a sister Jean Hunt (deceased). Daniel was married to Patricia Audrey Hunt (Cole) (deceased) of Croydon Surrey, England in 1959.

Daniel remarried 1986 and is survived by his wife of 35 years Germaine Hunt (Wells)

Daniel was in the RAF Royal Air Force in London at the age of 18. He worked as a work proficiency expert at Pinches Badge and Medals Company, producing medals and badges for the war effort. Daniel and his sister were evacuated during the war and his family house was bombed where they lived near London. Daniel with his wife Patricia and family immigrated to Canada in 1964, then, immigrated again and settled in the USA in 1969. Both worked for Lindal Cedar Homes, Patricia was personal secretary to Sir Walter Lindal and Daniel was the first United States Plant Manager for Lindal Cedar Homes Day Island Tacoma, WA. and is now the site of Narrow Marina. Daniel continued with Clary Roof Structures, Gray Hunt and Associates. Daniel started his family business in 1982 and designed the logo for Dan Hunt & Associates, Inc, Specializing in all Engineered Wood Products, mainly Glu-Laminated Beams. Daniel and family became American citizens in 1976. He loved to raise pedigree Samoyed dogs and had many. Daniel was a brilliant woodworking craftsman and made his own furniture and art. He had a great sense of humor, and a deep love for music, playing bridge, gambling and entertaining with friends.
Daniel married his second wife Germaine Wells in 1991 and the couple resided in Tacoma, WA. for the remainder of Daniel’s life. They both enjoyed retirement, entertaining friends and family esp. the fireworks on the Fourth of July with stunning views of Commencement Bay from their home’s deck, vacationing, cruises and various trips to Florida, San Diego, and Raleigh, NC. etc. Lake Chelan was their couple’s special retreat.
CELEBRATION OF LIFE OPEN HOUSE for DANIEL JAMES HUNT all are welcome from Noon - 4pm September 21st, 2024 at the home of Adam Hunt.
