Cyrilla Distefano

Obituary Cyrilla (Sye) A. DiStefano Sye was born on June 26, 1919 in Van Hook, North Dakota. She was one of nine children born to Frank and Catherine Czeczok. Sye passed away peacefully at home on February 21, 2010 at the age of 90. She was an active volunteer for the Catholic Church most of her life. She also enjoyed gardening and spending time with family and friends. She will always be remembered for her strong faith, her resilient spirit and her spunky personality. Sye was preceded in death by her loving husband, Leo DiStefano, of 46 years in 1994. She is survived by her daughters, Karen Rigger (Torrance, CA) and Karla Rosene (San Diego, CA), her grandchildren, Leo and Judy Rosene and Chelsea Rigger, her sisters, Kathryn Carnino and Dorie Gayda and many nieces and nephews. Sye was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend and will truly be missed by all. A Rosary will be recited at Gaffney Funeral Home in Tacoma, 1002 South Yakima, on Thursday, February 25th at 7:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Rita's Catholic Church in Tacoma, 1403 S. Ainsworth Ave., on Friday, February 26th at 10:30 am. A reception will follow and a procession to Calvary Cemetery.
