Obituary "Curly Jaquez" Born November 8, 1938 in Lovell, Wyoming to Juan and Maria Jaquez, he passed away August 16, 2005 after a courageous 20 year battle with diabetes. A Pierce County resident since 1942, he graduated from Lincoln High School in 1957 and proudly served his country in the Marines and National Guard. The majority of his career was spent as a bakery foreman, retiring from the Hostess Bakery Plant in Seattle. Curly was able to proudly spend his years living independently at his home of 30 years in Browns Point with the help of his many friends and family. Curly's close knit group of friends, many of which started when they were children growing up in Salishan, was very important to him and the family is very thankful to them all. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and his only son and is survived by daughters: Janine Lanphere of Graham and Terri (Dale) Pritchett of Missouri, grandchildren Julianne, Shelby, Kurt, Nicole and Shawnea, and siblings Simon (Tabo) Jaquez, John (Linda) Jaquez, Alfred (Pam) Jaquez and Lupe Corak. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 22, 2005 at 1:00 pm at Gaffney Funeral Home Chapel, 1002 South Yakima. Interment at Calvary Cemetery.
