Obituary Clyde D. Reed Clyde D. Reed, 83, died April 2, 2006 in University Place. He was a longtime breeder of Champion Bloodhounds that were successfully used in search and rescue operations. Clyde and his first wife Lena were the pioneers of the Northwest Bloodhounds Search and Rescue organization. He will be remembered for his willingness to share his knowledge with anyone who asked. Clyde was a life member of the American Bloodhound Club, an honorary Deputy Sheriff in Pierce County, and had participated in many high-profile searches and subsequent prosecutions. Clyde was also credited for locating many missing children and elderly people who wandered away. Clyde was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing and hunting. He was also a horseman. Clyde is survived by his second wife, Ruth, Puyallup, daughters: Bobbi (Richard) Eller, AZ, Frieda (Thomas) Phillips, Spanaway; son Richard (Myrna) Reed, Chattaroy, WA, sister Myrtice Butler, PA, grandchildren: Zeno and Xylena Reed, Spokane, Adar (Rob) Feller, Port Angeles, Michelle (Jeffrey) Koch, CA, Suzanna Eller, Seattle, Tonia (Ian) Kuvtunovich, OR, and great-granddaughter Ava. Clyde was preceded in death by his first wife Lena and his son David. Funeral services with military honors will be TODAY Wednesday, April 5, 2006, 1:00 pm at Tahoma National Cemetery, Kent, WA.
