September 10, 1947 — December 18, 2007

Obituary CLAYTON JOHN LANGLOIS Clayton John Langlois, beloved husband of Josephine for 33 years, and loving father of Peter, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 18. John was born in Malone, N.Y. in 1947. He attended Notre Dame School, and graduated from St. Joseph's Academy. He always had great memories of this time and kept in touch with his old friends and classmates. After graduating from college in Canton, N.Y., John served 22 years in the armed forces, and was a veteran of the first Gulf War. Over the years he and his family were stationed in Augsburg, Bamberg, and Gelnhausen in Germany, and in the states at Ft. Lewis, WA., Ft. Belvoir, VA., Ft. Riley, KS., and Ft. Bragg, N.C. After retiring from the Army, John and his family moved to Tacoma, the city where their son Peter was born, and to be closer to his loving sister, Mary Kay, of Corvallis, OR. In Tacoma, John worked hard for 12 years for United Rentals, often sacrificing his own weekends and holidays to work overtime, so the younger men could be with their young children. John enjoyed gardening and was proud of his beautiful flowers. He loved cats and never could resist taking in a stray kitten. He took great delight in his friends' children and grandchildren, and loved buying them toys and talking with them. He had an outgoing personality and a generous heart, and was always ready to help other people. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. In addition to his wife, son, and sister, Mary Kay Langlois, he is survived by his parents, Anna and Milford Langlois, of Cortland, N.Y. and Gouverneur, N.Y. respectively; his brother, Philip, and sister-in-law, Christine, of Tully, N.Y.; his sister, Cheryl Ervin, and brother-in-law, John Ervin of Cortland, Ohio; and his sister-in-law, Barbara Jones of Augsburg, Germany. Viewing will take place Saturday, Dec. 22 at Gaffney Funeral Home from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, Dec. 27 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church at 11 a.m., followed by burial at Mountain View Memorial Park, Lakewood.
