Obituary Chris Jr. was born in Oconto, Wisconsin on December 29, 1948 and passed away on September 27, 2007 in Olympia, Washington. Chris grew up in Tacoma and graduated from Wilson High School and received a B.S. Degree from the University of Washington. He continued his education at Marquette University earning a D.D.S. Chris went on to complete his residency in Anesthesiology from George Washington University. He then served as Resident in Oral Surgery at The Washington Hospital in Washington D.C., serving as Chief Resident. After completing his education, he commenced his practice at Union Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington for 27 years and retired in January of 2007. Chris was an active member with the Pierce County Dental Society, serving as President in 1990; he was also a member of W.S.S.O.M.A. Chris was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed skiing, hiking, gardening, boating, clamming, and crabbing, but his greatest passion was hunting and fishing which took him all over the world; his favorite destinations being Alaska, Montana and Mexico. Chris's greatest joy was spending time with family and friends with special memories spent at Cabo San Lucas and the Columbia River. Chris had many tremendous attributes, the greatest being his sense of humor, generosity, fierce determination and the ability to treat everyone as an equal. He is survived by his beloved wife of 25 years Afton, children; Christopher Hunter, Amy ( Dave) and Annie (Brad), siblings; Bill (Pam) Boehm, Susan (Jurgen) Huck, and Bette Johnson, granddaughter; Ariel and faithful companions Cocoa and Captain. He was preceded in death by Dr. Chris and Maxine Boehm. The family wishes to thank the following; Thurston County Medic One, the Doctors and Staff of the ICU and Oncology at St. Peters Hospital, Dr. Dustin Osborne and Staff, Cancer Treatment Centers of America, Dr. Ben Chue and Staff of Seattle, WA, M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston, Texas, and special appreciation to Candie Paulson and many friends and family for their love and support. A "Celebration of a New Life" will be held Thursday, October 11, 2007 at 1:00 pm at Tacoma Country Club, 13204 Country Club Drive SW, Lakewood, WA 98498 (253) 588-2161.
