Obituary Charles Aubrey Partrick 2 August 1944 - 15 February 2007 Born in Alabama and raised in Mississippi, Chuck had an eventful, energetic and engaging life. A sports enthusiast from his teenage years onward, he played football for the championship Hernando High School football team in Hernando, Mississippi - still recapping games with glee at reunions with his former teammates. He also played basketball for the Air Force base team in Athens, Greece, traveling throughout Europe to play. He was also a huge WSU Cougar fan (thrilled about the win on 14 Feb) and an avid golfer. Chuck enlisted in the USAF in 1963, serving until 1983 when he retired. At his first station, in Athens, Greece, he met and married his bride, Jennifer Benson and started a family. For the first 14 years of their 40 year marriage, he was stationed all around the United States until he, his bride and their 4 children made their home in Tacoma, WA. After retiring from active duty, Chuck spent his time reading, relaxing, doing some odd jobs, growing his hair and so on but his retirement was never retirement. He quickly resumed work at McChord AFB in the civil service as a personnel systems manager. He continued to enjoy the camaraderie of his co-workers and being a troubleshooter and problem solver for the Air Force. In the meantime, his family grew up and he and his wife enjoyed time with family and friends in Tacoma and elsewhere. Chuck's retirement from the civil service in 2005 capped approximately 42 years of service to the USAF and to his country. However, his service to his family and friends remained constant, even to becoming a parenting grandparent and a volunteer at McChord AFB for Retiree Affairs. Overall, his allegiance to family, friends and country was legend and his loyalty was ever-present. Charles is survived by his wife Jennifer, his 4 children, Jillene, Kevin, Scott & Joy, his son-in-law Michael, 7 grandchildren, his mother Sarah Catherine and siblings, Ray, Ann, Shirley, Doyle, & Royce. His extended family, in-laws, cousins, nieces & nephews and his special Mississippi family that loved and admired him greatly. Memorial Services will be at Kilworth Chapel, University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, WA on 23 February 2007 at 1:00 PM. Final inurnment at Tahoma National Cemetery.
