Obituary CHARLES ANDREW HOFSTEDT Charles Andrew Hofstedt was born May 2, 1930 in Minneapolis, MN to Harold and Lillian Hofstedt. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Barbetta, 7 siblings: Joanne & Bill Batty, Spokane, WA; H. Roland Hofstedt, Seattle, WA; Tom & Susie Hofstedt, Tacoma, WA; Karen & Bob Stelmack, Wellingore, U.K.; Kathy & Stan Bowers, Kailua, HI; Paula & Tim Kenney, Spokane, WA; Julie & Roy Gephart, Richland, WA; Children: Patrice & Todd Mickelson, Federal Way, WA; Charles II & Jeanette Hofstedt, Omaha, NE; Mary & Paul Sjoberg, Lynnwood, WA; Steve & Shannon Hofstedt, Ketchikan, AK; Michael Hofstedt, Poulsbo, WA; Kathy & Pat Briney, Gig Harbor, WA; Dartha & David Dragnich, Washington, DC; 11 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and extended family. Chuck enlisted in the US Army in 1949, re-enlisted in 1953. He served in Okinawa, Korea, Germany & Vietnam, retired at Ft. Lewis in 1973 and settled in Tacoma. He & Barbetta moved to Ketchikan in 1976, returned to Tacoma for good in 1985. He was a fine country-jazz guitarist and singer who liked cigars, golf, pool, puzzles and travel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, May 12, 2006, 12:10 pm at St. Leo's Catholic Church, 13th & Yakima in Tacoma. Memorial gifts may be made to the Humane Society or Catholic Community Services in Tacoma. Please leave online condolences at www.gaffneyfuneralhome.com .
