Obituary Charles W. Elling Charles W. Elling was born on January 12, 1922 in Jefferson, Oklahoma and died at home on Sunday, April 1, 2012. He was a resident of Tacoma for 62 years. Charles served in WWII in the Air Force. He worked for the City of Tacoma Public Works Department and retired after 25 years service. Charles was preceded in death by his first wife Gladys, son Roger, brother Herschel and wife Mary and brother Wayne and wife Phyllis. Survivors include his wife Nancy, sister-in-law Margaret Pinchak, nephews Rodney Elling (Janet), Phillip Elling, Robert (Soon) Elling, William (Kasey) Elling, Tim Pinchak, and Very Rev. David Mulholland, and cousins Richard Barr, Jerry Barr and Karalyn LaBrue. Funeral Service will be held at the Skyline Christian Church, 6262 Skyline Drive, Tacoma, WA at 1:00pm on Saturday, April 7, 2012. Reception will follow at the church. Interment at New Tacoma Cemetery. Memorials can be made to Skyline Christian Church or the Tacoma Rescue Mission.
