Cecelia Tierney Casey

Cecelia Tierney Casey, 87, of Federal Way, WA, passed away on Friday, July 5, 2024, after a fall and brief hospital stay.  She was the daughter of Matthew and Mary Tierney of Philadelphia, PA, and the wife of 47 years of William Francis Casey of Devon, PA.  She is survived by her two sons, John (Kim) of Federal Way, WA, and Thomas (Tamera) of Reston, VA.  She will be greatly missed by her sons, daughters-in-law, and four grandchildren, Jack, Cathryn, Kyle and Michael, whom she adored and would do anything for.  In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her sisters Anna, Jeanne, Theresa and Betty, and her brothers James, Michael, John and Alfred.

Ceil was an alumnus of West Catholic High School in Philadelphia and an employee of the General Electric Company.  She attended Saint Monica Catholic Church in Berwyn, PA, for over thirty years where she was an active member of the Legion of Mary.  She was a kind and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. A quiet person, Ceil was a person of substance whose faith and family were the central pillars of her life. After moving to Federal Way in 2013, she attended Saint Theresa Catholic Church, where she became known as a fixture at the 11am mass. Ceil was a kind and caring person who will be greatly missed by all who were lucky enough to know her. We take solace knowing she is reunited with her husband Bill in heaven.

Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral Mass on Wednesday, July 17th at Saint Theresa’s Church in Federal Way, WA.  An additional viewing will be held at Alleva Funeral Home in Paoli, PA on Monday, July 22nd prior to her interment at St. Monica Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her husband.
