Obituary Cecelia Rowe Brewitt Cecelia Rowe Brewitt died peacefully on October 9, 2013. She was born at home in South Prairie, Washington on December 16, 1915, the youngest of eleven children (7 girls and 4 boys) of Hannah and Elijah Rowe. All are now deceased. Cecelia graduated from South Prairie grade school and in 1934 she graduated from Buckley High School. She married Joseph Arch Brewitt, Jr. on August 6, 1940 in Juneau, Alaska. They had met when both worked for Puget Sound National Bank in Tacoma. Cecelia was always an active volunteer in the Tacoma community. While raising her children, she was active in Lowell preschool, PTA, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Campfire and Immanuel Presbyterian Church. She was an administrative aide for the School of Business at the University of Puget Sound and retired in 1981 after 20 years. Before her health limited her activities, Cecelia enjoyed gardening, ballroom dancing and playing bridge. Cecelia was preceded in death by her husband in March 1973; their son, Barry Joseph (Biejay) Brewitt in June 1994; and their daughter, Barbara Ann Brewitt in August 2009. Survivors include her daughter, Diane (Debbie) Brewitt Regala (husband Leo); three grandchildren, Alisa O'Hanlon (Craig) of Tacoma, Timothy Regala of Tacoma, and Jonathan Regala (Karey) of San Mateo, CA; two great granddaughters, Kenley and Quinn O'Hanlon; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family extends a special Thank You to the staff on the 600 and 700 halls of Tacoma Lutheran Home who provided Cecelia with such loving care over the past 6 months; and to those from Franciscan Hospice who provided comfort. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 18, 2013 at 1:00pm at Gaffney Funeral Home. Inurnment at Calvary Cemetery.
