Catherine M. Doherty

Obituary Catherine "Kay" Mary (Reed) Doherty passed away on January 2, 2009, aged 85 in Gig Harbor, WA. She was born in Tacoma and graduated from Lincoln High School. She enjoyed her many years working at Weyerhaeuser Corp Headquarters. Kay was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years George, her parents Bridget Viola and Lloyd Reed, and her brother Richard. She is survived by her brother Lloyd (Marianne) Reed, her daughters Eileen (Melvin) Fairchild, Patricia Coronado, Mary (Chuck) Graves and Katie (Thad Lyman) Doherty, her stepchildren Michael (Cathee) Doherty and Margaret (Lee) Queen, grandchildren Joshua, Benjamin, Justin, Jessica, Declan, Logan, and McKenzie. Kay's family would like to thank the staff at Manor Care Gig Harbor for the kindness and love they showed Kay during her stay. Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, January 8th, 11:00 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Tacoma. Rosary will be at Gaffney Funeral Home, in Tacoma, Wednesday, January 7th, 7:00 p.m.
