Obituary CAROLINE HUFF-MATZ Oct. 13, 1912 - Nov. 16, 2005 Caroline is now in heaven. Caroline loved the Lord and lived by her faith. Devoted to her family and the Church, she has left a quiet void in our lives. She was born in Mandan, North Dakota, the daughter of Elizabeth and Gregory Huff. She moved to Tacoma in 1940 with her husband Christian and then to the Fife area in 1961. She resided at Manor Care Residence, Gig Harbor with her husband, Chris, where this month they celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary. Survived by her sons, Jerome (Elaine) of Fircrest, Darrell (Shirley) of Tacoma, Leon (Fran) of Puyallup and daughter Elaine Mueller (Phil) of Denver, CO. She was blessed with fourteen grandchildren, David, Kristine, Thomas, Bryan, Eric, Jennifer, Deana, Stacey, Deidra, Paul, LeeAnn, Kimberly, Rebecca and Heather and five great-grandchildren, Garrett, Emma, Catherine, Andrew and Paul and brothers, Joseph and Thomas Huff and sister, Julia Ritz. She will be remembered by her friends of St. Martin's of Tour Church, where she was an active member of the Legion of Mary and made many, many rosaries for the Mission Church. She was a member of the National Catholic Society of Foresters. Our special thanks to the staff at Manor Care for their loving care of our parents. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, November 21, 2005 at 10 a.m. at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church. Rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. at the church, prior to the Mass. Private family interment will be at Gethsemane Cemetery. The family suggests memorials may be made to St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Caroline's memory.
