Obituary Carol Powell-Berntson age 60, of Tacoma, passed away peacefully at Hospice House in University Place, WA after a courageous battle with Ovarian Cancer. She was an active member of Skyline Presbyterian Church, served on the Board of Habitat for Humanity for 6 years and received the Presbyterian Women's National Achievement Award in 1989. Some of our mom's greatest joys were helping out with the children's bell choir at church, her book group, taking girls trips with her friends, teaching her grandchildren to eat dessert first and how to make muddle angels. Our mom saw things in a very simple light and received great joy from life. She lived her life as a child of God. Left behind to celebrate her life and her love; her sister Barbara (Herb) Wenger, Carol's 2 children Christina (Sean) Dabney, Mark Berntson; 2 grandchildren Michayla and Tayler Dabney; and all the loving family members of the Powell and Berntson families The family would like to especially thank Franciscan Hospice, Dr. Jay Klarnet, Dr. Lee and all of mom's nurses for their loving care over the last year. Join us to celebrate her life on Thursday, November 30, 2006, 2:00 pm at Skyline Presbyterian Church, 6301 Westgate Blvd Tacoma, WA 98406 253-752-5757. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Pierce County Chapter of Habitat for Humanity, 909 N "J" St. Tacoma, WA 98403 253-627-5626; or to Skyline Presbyterian Church for Children's ministries.
