Carla Mae Pemberton

Carla Pemberton, aged 88, passed away on September 22, 2024, in Lakewood, WA. Born on August 15, 1936, Carla was known for her loving and sweet disposition, always eager to embrace new experiences and cherish moments with family and friends.
Carla graduated from Lincoln High School and later earned a degree as a Certified Gemologist from the Gemological Institute of America. Her professional life was largely devoted to Evanton Ltd, a fine gift and jewelry store in Lakewood, which she owned and operated alongside her daughter, sister, and aunt. Carla found great joy in the beauty of her surroundings and the close relationships she fostered through her work.
Beyond her career, Carla loved to travel with her husband, Ron, and their regular group of friends, exploring new places and creating lasting memories.
She is survived by her daughters, Jo (John) Hegarty and Christine Pemberton; sister, Marcia McLaughlin; grandsons, Jaisun, Jeremy, and Jordan Evans; and great-granddaughters, Olivia and Cienna. Carla was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Clara, and her son, Kenneth.
A small family memorial service will be held at Calvary Cemetery Chapel on October 8, 2024, at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Kenneth Pemberton Memorial Scholarship Fund at Bellarmine Preparatory School, honoring her late son’s memory.
