Obituary Brian Francis Shea Brian Francis Shea, 50, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 9, 2013. He was a very caring, loving, generous, and humble man with a beautiful spirit and smile. Brian was born to Robert and Elizabeth Shea on August 10, 1963. He was raised in Fircrest, Washington and attended St. Charles Borromeo School, Bellarmine Preparatory School and Bates Technical Institute. In his youth, Brian spent countless days playing baseball, basketball or swimming at the Fircrest Park, hanging out at the family beach cabin in Rosedale or skiing at Crystal Mountain. When Brian was 19, he and his brother, Dan, climbed Mt. Rainier past Disappointment Cleaver, the most difficult part of the climb, to 12,500 feet. For safety reasons, they returned to Camp Muir without achieving the summit. Nevertheless, it was a great adventure for all! As he got older, he spent time working and racing his prized 1967 Barracuda or his Harley Davidson motorcycle. In his twenties, Brian met his former in-laws, Gary and Pat Gibbs while working at Platt Electric. Gary took him under his wings and introduced Brian to the world of being an electrician and to his daughter, Teresa. Teresa and Brian were married in 1989 and their beautiful daughter, Amanda, was born in September, 1989. When Amanda was young, Brian would light up when she would come running into the room. She, like Brian, has an infectious smile that lights up a room. Brian learned from the best and became an amazing electrician who could fix anything. Being an electrician was so easy for him. Others would be amazed but he was so humble and always would say "it was nothing". He had a heart of gold and would drop everything to help his family and friends in need. Most recently, Brian started remodeling homes and was excited to have the opportunity to learn other trades. Smiling down from heaven with his Dad, Brian leaves behind his sweet and caring daughter, Amanda; his newly born granddaughter, Alexis; his mom, Elizabeth "Betty"; his four brothers, Dan (Karen), Pat, Bob (Shelly) and Bill (Melissa); three sisters, Peggy, Kathleen (Martin) and Mary (Louis); and many nieces, nephews, special friends and relatives. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, October 25, 2013 at 12:10 pm at St. Leo Parish. A Rosary will be recited on Thursday, October 24, 2013 at 7:00pm at Gaffney Funeral Home Chapel.
