Brian J Plowden, son of Janice and John Plowden, was born April 20, 1941 and passed away on November 24, 2024 at age 83. He was a graduate of Bellarmine Prep in 1959, and in 1963 graduated from Seattle Univ with a business degree. He served with the Air force for a couple years in the 60’s.
Brian spent His youth swimming and enjoying water sports, boating and skiing, in the Puget Sound waters.
Building and repairing houses became his passion. After a few years in Portland, Oregon, He returned to Tacoma and started his own construction Company. He was a master of finish work but could build, repair and fix anything. He also had a love for cars, especially the Oldsmobile Cutlass. He enjoyed restoring and driving them. He often drove his yellow Cutlass convertible in the daffodil Parade.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Joyce. Also, his step children, Debra Troyer (Brad), Huntsville AL., Rebecca Berglund, Auburn, WA, John Walker (Rhealyn) Phoenix, AZ, Angela Mastrorocco (Mark), Orting, Wa. And several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. Also missing him are his brother David Plowden (Patty), San Francisco; his sister Joan Fabiani, Gig Harbor; His niece Marisa Plowden (Ethan Ilzetzki), London, UK, His nephews, Michael Fabiani (Jessica), Fox Island, and Jeffrey Fabiani (Mariah) Tacoma. Also, several great nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Jan 10, 2025 at 11:15 AM at Gaffney Funeral Home. Following the service, Internment at Tahoma National Cemetery, in Kent, WA, at 2 PM
