Obituary Arrangements by Gaffney Funeral Home Beverley P.A. Brown January 20, 1924 - May 2, 2018 Beverley Brown, 94, of Tacoma, passed away May 2, 2018. Born in Tacoma to Dr. and Mrs. Burton A. Brown, she attended Annie Wright School, Tacoma; Cornish School of Music (piano), Seattle; Chouinard Art School, Los Angeles; University of Oregon (majoring in Literature and Art History); and the University of Puget Sound (Master's Degree in Art History and Teaching). Beverley was a talented role model and mentor, teaching Art History and Fine Arts at Annie Wright School for 32 years. She loved music, art, gardening, and animals, and had a wide circle of friends who will grieve at her passing. She was an active member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church. She is survived by many close friends and former students who loved her dearly, including the Elliott family (Tom Elliott, Molly Elliott and Cathy Wilson and their spouses), and her "honorary" children: Laura J. Pederson, Deborah Middleton Cassidy, Cynthia Wrinkle and Marlo Fyfe (deceased). During Beverley's final months of life, she was supported by many loving and kind caregivers and nurses at Franciscan Hospice and The Weatherly Inn. She appreciated them very much. A funeral service will be held on Monday, May 7 at 11:00 am at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 1523 S. Yakima Avenue, Tacoma, followed by a reception. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Humane Society for Tacoma and Pierce County.
