Bertha Schneider

Obituary Bertha Schneider Bertha Schneider was born in Glasgow, Scotland. She passed away on June 21, 2012. She married Eugene Schneider from New York City, in Feb. 1945 in Glasgow, Scotland. In 1946 she joined her husband in New York. In Dec. of 1946, she & her husband came to Tacoma, WA where they have resided since then. She has always been an active member of the community, was a member of the Lady Lions Club, and the Oakbrook Country Club. She always loved animals & contributed to the Humane Society. She assisted in a English class for Women at Pierce College. She has always been interested in art & book classes at Tacoma Community College, Pierce College. In 1965, she became a member of Lakewood Artists Club and participated in many of their activities. Some of her work received significant awards from other art organizations. As a member of organization of Temple Beth El, she was involved in the activities of the Temple Sisterhood, Hadassah & Council of Jewish Women. She is predeceased by her husband Eugene Schneider. She is survived by a son; Myles Gordon Schneider, nephews; David (Adele) Gollan of Winchester, VA and Malcolm (Mary) Wolfson of Bellevue, WA, nephew; Martin Gollan, niece; Lauren Gollan both of Toronto, Canada, numerous great-nieces & nephews, cousin; Dr. Ralph Shulman of Vancouver, B.C. (ret), and good friend Sigrid Elenga of Kirkland, WA. Graveside Service will be held on Monday, June 25, 2012, 1:00 pm at Home of Peace Cemetery.
