Obituary Bertha Evelyn (Healey) Morrison Bertha Evelyn (Healey) Morrison, 85, passed away at home on the morning of April 21, 2009. She was born at home in Worcester, MA on March 29, 1924, the third child of James and Mary (McKeon) Healey. She graduated from Commerce High School in 1943, and was a former parishioner of Sacred Heart Church. Bertha worked at Crompton & Knowles and at Torry Razor Company, where she met her future husband, Raymond Morrison. They married in 1951 and proceeded to raise two daughters in North Grafton and Worcester, MA before moving to the Pacific Northwest and settling down in Tacoma, WA. Bertha enjoyed numerous trips to Maine and Cape Cod and spending time with family and friends. She always enjoyed taking long walks and admiring flower gardens and sunsets. Bertha was devoted to her family and was guided by her faith. She will be remembered for baking wonderful cookies and for all the cards she sent to family and friends letting them know that she was thinking of them. She was very proud of her Irish Catholic heritage and of all her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Bertha is survived by her loving husband of nearly 58 years, daughters Christine (Michael) Perry and Nancy (David) Morgan, grandchildren Julie (Matt) Morton, Christopher and William Morgan, great-grandchildren Jackson and Ava Morton, and her wonderful childhood friend of 80 years, Marge (Cove) Mills of North Grafton, MA. Bertha was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church for more than 35 years. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, April 28th, 2009 at 11:00 am at Holy Cross, 5510 N. 44th Street, Tacoma, WA. She will be buried at Tacoma National Cemetery, Covington, WA. In lieu of flowers, remembrances in her honor may be made to the Holy Cross Church Bell Tower Project or to the Arthritis Foundation/ RA ( www.arthritis.org ).
