Bernard Barkshire

Obituary Our father, Barney passed away November 30th, 2011 surrounded by his family. He was born April 30th, 1923 to Doris and Fred Barkshire, living his whole life in the Pacific Northwest. He served his country in World War II, settled in Federal Way and co-founded Barkshire Construction Co. Barney enjoyed boating, spending family vacations in Canada and the San Juan Islands on his boat the Mar-Ney. Barney is survived by sister, Marie O'Neill of the Tri Cities and brother, Art Barkshire of Seattle, his children Pam and Mick Deines of Gig Harbor, Jerry Barkshire of Olalla, Mary and Mike Hightower of Port Orchard, eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and his friend Cecyle Simpson. Barney was predeceased by brother, Robert Barkshire, the love of his life Marjorie Barkshire, Sydney Geib Barkshire and his Granddaughter Molly Hightower. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, December 5th, 2011 at 11am at Gethsemane Cemetery. Remembrances can be made to Friendsoftheorphans.org in Barney and Molly's names.
