B. Dennis Schmidt

B. Dennis Schmidt passed away peacefully on December 4th, 2022. He was born to Richard and Lorna Schmidt in Minot, North Dakota, the second of eleven children. Dennis was a graduate of the University of Portland, and spent his career in the insurance industry, focusing on employee benefits. A firm believer in supporting his community, he served on many boards of charitable organizations. He is survived by his wife, Sharon of 61 years, and children, Juliet (Michael) Dixon, Andrew (Trudy) Schmidt, Rachel (Raymond) Hettinger and Sarah (Ray) Brenkus.  He was “Papa” to seven grandsons, Tyler, Tim, Evan, Carsten, Daniel, Adam, and Matthew, and to great grandchildren Josiah and Stella.  Family, both immediate and extended, was very important to him. He led a genuine. loving, generous, kind, and spiritual life.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Church December 20, 2022 at 11:00 a.m.
