Our beloved Barbara “Barbie” Doria was a selfless, adoring and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She left this world too soon on January 12, 2023 at
the age of 79.
Barbara was born to Frank and Mary Fiorino in Tacoma, WA and was the oldest of five children. After graduating from Wilson High School where she was voted "Class Cut Up" and sang
soprano in a trio with her best friends, Barbara met and married the man of her dreams, Joseph Doria. Together, they raised three children and would have joyfully celebrated 58 years of
marriage this August.
Barbara was beautiful, patient and kind and always believed that laughter was the best medicine. She cherished her relationships with family and friends and was a deeply spiritual person as well as a talented professional in the field of accounting. Barbara had an incredible sense of humor and was a voracious reader who enjoyed music, dancing and singing duets with her darling husband Joe, gardening, travel and entertaining. She was also a phenomenal cook and avid baker who graciously hosted countless holiday and Sunday gatherings for friends and family that were truly legendary.
Most of all, Barbara enjoyed spending time with her husband, their three children and their spouses, her grandchildren, her siblings and her many cousins, nieces and nephews. Barbara's love for her family was immense and unconditional and for this, and so much more, her memory will live on forever.
Barbara is survived by her husband Joe Doria, daughter Elizabeth Pearson (husband Dave), son Joe Doria (wife Lorrie), daughter Rebecca Johnston (husband Jason), her grandchildren Allie Pearson, Chase Pearson, Ryan Johnston and Katie Johnston, her siblings David Fiorino (wife Deana), Daniel Fiorino (wife Paula), Margaret Fiorino and Laura Doherty and many much-loved cousins, nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews and friends.
A Celebration of Life for Barbara Doria is scheduled for 11:00 am on Thursday, January 26th at St. Charles Borromeo Church with a reception following at 7112 South 12th Street in Tacoma,
Washington. In lieu of flowers, please consider a small donation to
