Audrey Maxine Hintz

October 13, 1921 — November 18, 2008

Obituary Audrey Maxine Hintz "Nana" Audrey Hintz passed away peacefully on November 18, 2008, after 87 very fully years of life. She was the oldest and last surviving child of five, born to Charles and Roxie Merritt on October 13, 1921. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Harry Hintz. Her loving family includes three children; Donna Pedersen (Bert), Jim Hintz and Kathy Brewster. She was also adored by her four grandchildren; Kirsten Barkman (Eric), Kurt Pedersen (Barnadett), Brent Pedersen, and Megan Dochterman (Lane). Audrey also was blessed with five great-grandchildren; Kara, Joel, Annalise, Benjamin and Mia. Audrey and Harry were charter members of Christ the King Lutheran Church, where they were members for over 40 years, and also members of Trinity Lutheran, where Audrey volunteered for many years. She worked for many years at Hygrade and Sears. The loves of her life were her family and friends. She and Harry were tour escorts for over 30 years, guiding thousands of fellow travelers to over 80 countries on over 130 tours. She also loved stuffed animals, slot machines, happy hours, horse races and bingo. She enjoyed her quilting group and was a member of DAR. She was a good friend to many and great Mom; her tiny frame held a huge heart and she was deeply loved by many. A family graveside service will be held on Tuesday, November 25, at 2 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. A celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday, January 6, 2009 (Harry's birth date) at 2 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church (121st and Park Ave So.), with a reception following. Because of her love of children, a "Nan and Papa" funds has been set up for Trinity Lutheran's Childcare and Pre-school. Warm thanks to Villas at Union Park, ManorCare in Gig Harbor and Sound View Care Center for their caring and service. Audrey will be dearly missed, but in our hearts we know she and Harry are now reunited and on their greatest adventure yet. Please leave online condolences at www.GaffneyCares.com. Arrangements by Gaffney Funeral Home, 253-572-
