Obituary AUDELIA C. SUNICH Audelia C. Sunich, "Tillie", to her friends, was born on Valentine's Day, February 14, 1914, and was truly a sweetheart to all that knew her. She passed away on April 8, 2008, a few weeks after her 94th birthday. She was a long-time resident of the Ruston/North Tacoma area, and resided for the last nine years in Lakewood with her daughter and son-in-law, Darlene and Larry Wilder. Tillie's faith, family, and friends were extremely important to her. While in the North End, she belonged to Holy Cross Church, and since moving, she became a member of St. John Bosco Catholic Church. She loved her family and friends very much, and enjoyed talking on the telephone, visiting and having family and friends stop by for lunch, and especially praying daily for them. In her early years, she worked as a waitress, but for most of her life, she was an excellent homemaker. She enjoyed cooking very much, especially baking her homemade bread, sweetbreads, and cookies, which she freely shared with others. She also enjoyed crocheting and embroidering doilies and pillowcases in particular for the family. She loved flowers, and enjoyed the beautifully landscaped yard in Lakewood; and while in the North End, her flower gardens were a colorful paradise for birds and butterflies, and the abundance from her bountifully vegetable garden was shared with family and neighbors. Tillie was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Sunich, and son, Donald Cupic; and she is survived by her three daughters, Diana Storino, Darlene (Larry) Wilder, and JoAnn (Steve Pybas, and her five grandchildren, Alisa Wilder, Nicolette (Chris) Melchoir, Angelia Storino-Spohn, Erica and Brent Pybas, ToniMarie McDonald and Tony Cupic, and two great grandchildren, James Russell and Christopher Cupic. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Father Hightower and the Eucharistic Ministers of St. John Bosco Church, and the Staff at Tacoma General Hospital and especially the staff at Hospice House, who worked so hard to make her final days peaceful and painfree. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Hospice House 2901 Bridgeport Way West, University Place, Washington 98466. The Rosary will be recited on Friday, April 11, 2008 at 10:00 am prior to the Funeral Mass at 11:00 am at St. John Bosco Catholic Church, followed by a luncheon at the church hall. Interment will be after lunch at Haven of Rest Cemetery in Gig Harbor. Please leave online condolences at www.GaffneyCares.com. Arrangements by Gaffney Funeral Home, 253-572-6003.
