Obituary Our father, Arthur J. Sohn, passed away on July 14th. He was born and raised in Tacoma. He attended Lincoln High School, graduating in 1939. After serving in the Merchant Marines, he returned to Tacoma and wed our Mother, Mary Patricia Donovan (Patty) on July 4, 1945. He held numerous jobs in the Tacoma area before he established COUNTY BEER DISTRIBUTOR in the Puyallup valley in 1950. For 40 years (20 of which in business with his son, David) he sold Heidelberg beer and other successor brands, in areas including (but not limited to) Puyallup, Sumner, Auburn, Orting, Bonney Lake, Enumclaw, Cumberland, Greenwater, Ravensdale, Black Diamond, Palmer and Kent-Kangley. In other words....his favorite term: peddling Heidelberg "Around the Horn." Upon his retirement, he hitched his Holiday Rambler to his trusty Suburban every October and headed South, traveling to Arizona and California before finally settling in the "Happy Wanderer." After suffering a mild stroke, he became a regular at Morgan Family YMCA stroke class, where he formed many strong and valued friendships. He is preceded in death by his wife Patty, his daughter Jany and his sister Toby. He is survived by his son David (Mary Ellen), daughters Debby (Mike) Harrison, Teresa (Joe) Jackson, Judy (Keith) Pickett and son-in-law Joe (Traci) Whiteley. His grandchildren are: Andrew, Sara, Jamie, Katie, Liz, Annie and Jordan. He is also survived by his nephew Perry Cohn and niece Paula Plotkin. To say, "we will all miss him," is an understatement! A celebration of Art's life will be held at Tacoma Elk's Lodge on July 30th at 3:00.
