Obituary Anne Frances Leahy Anne Frances Leahy (nee Smith) was born on May 21, 1932 in Philadelphia, PA and passed away on June 8, 2014 in Tacoma, WA. She graduated from Little Flower Catholic High School for Girls in Philadelphia and in 1952 from Fitzgerald Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Darby, PA. Anne lived her life with integrity and taught those close to her that love and kindness prevail in life. She was known for her love of and caring for the young and old of her extended family. Anne contributed many volunteer hours to the church and service organizations in addition to her years of work as a nurse for the Veterans Administration. She is survived by her devoted husband of 53 years, John F. Leahy, Jr.; sons, Kevin Leahy (Lori), and John Leahy (Jeanne); daughters, Elizabeth Leahy, and Rosemary Leahy Raynolds (Stephen); seven grandchildren, Megan, John, Sean, Owen, Ella, Patrick and Kathryn; her sister, Mary Reilly; and nieces and nephew. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Little Flower Catholic High School for Girls in Philadelphia, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 13, 2014 at 12:10pm at St. Leo Catholic Church in Tacoma, WA. Interment at Gethsemane Cemetery, Federal Way, WA.
