Obituary Anna Louise Ward Anna Louise Ward was born on April 14, 1916 in Eatonville, WA to Cyrus and Agnes Snow. She passed away peacefully at age 93 on August 21, 2009 in her home surrounded by her loving family. She graduated from Eatonville High School in 1934 and was salutatorian of her class. After graduation, she worked for Williams Potato Chip Co. in Seattle. She married her high school sweetheart Fred (Hugh) Ward. The couple started their family while living in Alder. They eventually settled in Tacoma to raise their family and ran Ward's Grocery for many years. Anna Louise was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She was an excellent cook ?" a couple of her specialties were Ice Box Cookies and banana cream pies. She loved all sports. There were many evenings she had the Mariners on TV and another game playing on the radio. Anna Louise was an avid bowler ?" she bowled until her age was greater than her average. She also loved family camping trips and playing cards. Anna Louise was a devout member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church where she attended daily mass and led the rosary. She was also involved in Mother's Club and Altar Society over the years. She truly lived her faith. Preceded in death by her husband, Hugh, Anna Louise will be greatly missed by her six children: Maureen (Terry) Armstrong, Dennis (Janet) Ward, Mary (Clarence) Slone, John (Denise) Ward, Patty (Palmer) Koon, Mike (Jayme) Ward and by 17 grandchildren and 18 ½ great-grandchildren. A Funeral Mass to celebrate her life will be held on Friday, August 28, 2009 at 11:00 am at Sacred Heart Church at 4520 McKinley Ave. in Tacoma, WA 98404. The Rosary will be recited prior to the services at 10:30 am in the church. The family wishes to extend a special "thank you" to Franciscan Hospice for all their support the last few months. If desired, donations may be made to Sacred Heart Altar Society or Franciscan Hospice.
