Obituary Anna Marie Schaefer Anna Marie Schaefer was born April 28, 1910 on the family homestead near Rhame, ND. She passed away December 24, 2010 in Steilacoom, WA. Anna graduated from Rhame High School in 1929 and entered a nursing program in Aberdeen, SD. After a few months in the nursing program she was called back to the family farm to help her parents. Anna married her childhood sweetheart, A.J. Schaefer in 1934 and had five children. They farmed in the Rhame area for 31 years before moving Everett, WA. Anna was an accomplished seamstress, quilter and doll maker. Her passion was making soft cloth dolls for children and soft quilts for baby cribs. She finished her last quilt just a few weeks before her death. She is survived by two daughters, Lola Catherine (Cathy) Nugent, Therese Fischer (Joe), and two sons, Leo Schaefer (Marlis), Gerard Schaefer (Mary). A sister, Martha Peterson, Rapid City, SD, 23 grandchildren, 60 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and four sisters, husband A.J., infant son, Jerome, and grandson, Leo Schaefer. Rosary at 10 am and Funeral services 11 am January 7, 2011, at St. John Bosco Church, Lakewood, WA. Family requests donations be made to St. John Bosco Church, Group Health Hospice or Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia, 609 S. Convent Rd., Aston, PA 19014.
