Obituary Anna Josephine Colombini March 19, 1930 to May 26, 2012 Loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, Nona and friend passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 26, 2012. Anna was born in Tacoma, Washington, the first child of Nick and Marica Marinkovich. She grew up as an active member in the Croatian community and St. Patrick Parish. Anna attended St. Patrick School and graduated from Aquinas Academy in 1948. She briefly attended Seattle University and earned a secretarial certificate at Knapp College of Business. Anna worked for First National Bank of Washington for almost 30 years. Anna married Robert "Bob" Colombini Jr. in 1967. She stayed home to raise her children until 1983, when she returned to work as a clerk in the Medicare department at Pierce County Medical Bureau. After retiring in 1995, Anna enjoyed volunteering in the bereavement ministry and Eucharistic Adoration at St. Patrick Parish, along with spending time with family and friends. One of her greatest joys was being a grandmother to Claire, Mia and Santiago. Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Colombini Jr., and her parents Nick and Marica Marinkovich. She is survived by her two children, Rob and Lisa (Fergus), and grandchildren, Claire, Mia and Santiago, as well as sisters Fran, Rosalie (Frank) and Maggie, brother Tom (Terry) and numerous nieces and nephews. Anna's spirit will live on in each person she graced with her gentle presence, warm smile, kind heart and contagious personality. Although she will be greatly missed, her family and friends find comfort in knowing she's in Heaven and relieved of her earthly suffering. Viewing is Thursday, May 31, at Gaffney Funeral Home, 1002 S. Yakima Ave., Tacoma. Funeral Mass and reception to celebrate Anna's life will be Friday, June 1, 11 a.m., at St. Patrick Catholic Church at the corner of North 12th and "J" Streets in Tacoma.
