Ann Francis Lendosky

September 9, 1927 — September 30, 2007

Obituary Ann Lendosky passed away on September 30, 2007 at Franciscan Hospice House in University Place. Ann was born on September 9, 1927 in Dixon Ill. where she graduated from nursing school before moving to Tacoma. There she married her husband Tom and began her family and nursing career, working at the old Tribal hospital, and the Northern Pacific Hospital before joining the Tacoma Pierce County Blood Bank where she worked for over 20 years. It was there that Ann made many friends of both staff members and the public who became regulars to Ann as they donated blood. After retirement she and Tom enjoyed traveling, being active in St. Patrick's parish and hosting their annual July 4th party at their home in Old Town. It turned into a large event of family and close friends, where everyone was welcome and there was always plenty of food to go around. Ann and Tom always made sure that everyone had something to take home. After Tom's death in 2001, Ann remained at home and insisted that annual July tradition continue until she moved to the Weatherly Inn in 2006. She also enjoyed frequent trips to the Emerald Queen with her dearest friend Margaret. Ann was preceded in death by her parents, William and Laurene, husband of 48 years Thomas, sister; Betty and brother; Jack. She is survived by her two sons, Tom (Cathy and granddaughter Holly) and Jon (Jackie). The family would like to thank the employees of the Weatherly Inn for their care of mom during her time there and Franciscan Hospice for helping to make the most difficult bearable and dignified. Vigil will be held on Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at 7:00 pm at Gaffney Funeral Home Chapel in Tacoma, WA. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, October 4, 2007 at 11:00 am at St Patrick's Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Franciscan Hospice.
