Obituary Jean Kistner Alton Ann Jane "Jean" Kistner, 89, passed away Saturday, September 26, 2009 with family at her side. She went to join Bob, her husband of 63 years who died in 2003. The daughter of Edward and Clara Schubert, Jean was born December 12, 1919, in Streator, Illinois. She moved to Alton with her family when she was 13 years old, and lived here for most of her life. She was living in Tacoma, Washington, near her daughter, at the time of her death. Jean graduated from Alton High School in 1938, and on June 10, 1939, she married the love of her life, Arthur Robert (Bob) Kistner. She was very devoted to her family, she was an avid reader, loved travelling, and enjoyed playing bridge. She and her family were parishioners of Saint Mary's Catholic Church for most of their time in Alton, with some of that time at Saint Matthew's Catholic Church. Jean is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Judy (Gene) Hussey of Fircrest, Wash.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael (Donna) Kistner of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; and Mark (Meme) Kistner of Glenwood Springs, Col.; five grandchildren, Megan (Scott) Matthew of Federal Way, Wash.; Erin (Steve) Keller of San Jose, Calif.; KellyAnn Hussey of Tacoma, Wash.; Kathleen (Tom) Ellis of Columbia, Mo.; and Steven (Jen) Kistner of Tewksbury, Mass.; 14 great-grandchildren; and other extended family and friends. Besides her parents and husband, Jean was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth (Pat) Schubert; and her niece, Ann Schubert. A Funeral Mass will be held at Saint Rita Catholic Church in Tacoma, Wash. on October 9. 2009. A graveside ceremony will be held on October 17, 2009 at 11:00 am at St. Joseph Cemetery in Alton, led by a clergyman of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
