Obituary Ann (Kosakowski) Brogdon, age 99, died February 9, 2008 at The Tacoma Lutheran Home. She was born in New Jersey and moved to Washington State with her family at the age of two. Ann graduated from Roy High School and Knapp's Business College, Tacoma. She later was employed as personal secretary to J.P. Whitney, President of Whitney Engineering Co. Ann worked as secretary in several Law offices in Seattle, Tacoma and Montana. She also was employed as a personal secretary to the Director of Airborne Infections, Fort Lewis. Ann was an active member of Holy Rosary Parish until her health failed. Mrs. Brogdon retired from Pierce County, Civil Department District Court, Tacoma. Preceding her in death was her husband, John Brogdon (1980), her son, Bill Keeton (1999) and her three sisters, Bernice Darling, Dawn McMillan and Shirley Woods. She is survived by her 4 nephews and 1 niece: James (Marge) Darling, Jack (Jerry) Darling, Sister Michele MacMillan, OP, Gary Gosk and David (Jan) Gosk. In an interview, Ann spoke of her philosophy: "To be honest, especially to myself and to be patient and compassionate, especially to those who have problems; to help people who do things wrong instead of condemning them." The family wishes to give thanks to the Dominican Sisters of Tacoma and total staff at The Tacoma Lutheran Home who showed such compassion and gentleness towards Ann and her niece. Funeral Service will be held Thursday, February 14, 2008 at 11:00 am at the Gaffney Funeral Home Chapel. Interment at Calvary Cemetery.
