Obituary Angelina Gardella Prieur Momma was born Angelina Gardella on November 9, 1923 at the Colonial Gardens in Fife on the day her parents, Edwardo Gardella and Rosa Gardella, arrived in the Valley from Italy. They would eventually have two more children, a son, Bruno Gardella (deceased), formerly of Puyallup, WA and a daughter, Diana Gardella Cruz, of Riverside, CA. She graduated from Fife High School in 1942. That summer, she met my father, Fabian W. Prieur, and married him on November 10, 1942. During the War, Momma was a "Rosie the Riveter" at Boeing. Then she was a mother of two children, my brother, Ron Prieur (deceased), formerly of Westport, born February 8, 1947 and me, a daughter, Sharon Prieur-Stevens, born June 23, 1953, of Tacoma. Both graduated from Fife High School. In 1958, she went to work at Tacoma General Hospital as a nurse's aide. In 1980 she retired, shortly after my father died, and went to Italy shortly after that to visit her family. Momma loved to travel and went twice more through the years. We went several times to Hawaii, and for her 80th birthday my husband Jeff and I took her to Puerto Vallarta. She was wonderful. She has four lovely grandchildren: my daughter Marcy Holland Heath of McCallsburg, IA, and my son Jason Holland of Tacoma. My brother Ron left two boys, Joshua Prieur of Puyallup, and Joseph Prieur of Westport. Her granddaughter Marcy gave birth to Angelina's great-granddaughter Jacqueline Heath in February and Momma got to see her just before she passed away. My Momma, Angelina, was aptly named. She really was our little angel, and I can't imagine life without her. She was my best friend. -- Sharon Prieur-Stevens
