Obituary Andrew Gruchalla Andy "Red" Gruchalla, 89, born November 10, 1917 on the family farm in Fried, ND, died Wednesday June 13, 2007 at his residence at the Weatherly Inn. Preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Evelyn, and all five of his siblings. He is survived by his three children. Mary Jo Souza of Gig Harbor, Irene Axley of Snohomish and Neil Gruchalla of Puyallup. Andy was the proud grandpa to 10 grandkids and great grandpa to 9. Andy was the family patriarch with unbending Faith. Andy served in the Army and was a charter parishioner of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church of Tacoma. Not one to sit still for long, Red enjoyed his hours spent in the garden, target shooting or playing cards with family and friends. Rosary will be held Thursday, June 21 at 7pm at Gaffney Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, June 22 at 11 am at St. Charles followed by interment at New Tacoma Cemetery.
